Academic research projects often struggle to reach the people who need them most. Without audience-oriented communication or a recognisable identity, even innovative work rarely makes the leap from university into practice. The Bildungswerkstatt, a learning and transfer space at HSBI bridging childhood education research and daycare practitioners, was exactly this kind of project: deeply valuable, yet largely invisible to its target audience.
The initiative I proposed went beyond solving the communication problem for a single project. The core idea was to establish a repeatable format: integrating real academic research projects from HSBI as live briefs into brand identity workshops for bachelor's and master's students in communication design. This way, underrepresented research projects would gain the strategic and visual foundations they would otherwise never receive, while students work on genuine, complex real-world briefs.
